After a 3-year renovation, this beautiful Victorian apartment is available to rent. This 1000-square foot unit occupies the main floor of the duplex; the house was once the parsonage of the Swedish Lutheran Church (sadly, the church is no longer standing). It is located across the street from Peter White Public Library, next door to the former German Lutheran Church, and one block from downtown.
This apartment has all the renovations desired for comfortable modern living, including new windows, insulation, plumbing and wiring, and Kraftmaid cabinets, with the house's Victorian charm intact. Original features include the maple flooring, many of the moldings, and radiators. Large windows and high ceilings make the space bright and inviting, and plenty of storage space is available in the big closets and many kitchen cabinets. Bedrooms measure 15'x12' and 15'x10', and desk nooks in the kitchen and master bedroom add extra functional space. Built-in air conditioning units are located in the living room and master bedroom. Both bathrooms include deep bathtubs. Views from inside the apartment include the library, church, and landscaped courtyard, with the lake visible on the horizon.
The entire property, including indoor and outdoor spaces, courtyard, and parking lot, is strictly non-smoking. Laundry is coin-op and is in the basement of the duplex. One parking space per adult tenant is provided in the parking lot, and landlord provides snow removal for the parking lot and walkways. Secure, indoor bicycle storage is provided as well. Cats/dogs accepted - pet rent is $75/pet/month. Security deposit is equal to 1 month's rent without pets or 1.5 month's rent with pets. Dogs must be introduced to landlord prior to move-in for approval, and owner must provide documentation showing that pets have a history of being kept up to date on licensing and vaccines. There are no breed restrictions for dogs, but they must be well-trained and QUIET.
Landlord pays for water, trash, and heat. Tenant pays for electricity (heat is NOT electric). Lease duration is negotiable (minimum six months, maximum 12 months).
