    What's special

Own kitchenLots of storage spaceBest blocks in dcPeaceful front porchTwo-level back deck
We are seeking an individual or couple to rent the downstairs apartment in our Mount Pleasant rowhouse. Our house is located on one of the best blocks in DC, easily walkable to the Columbia Heights metro, multiple bus lines, Rock Creek Park, and the National Zoo. This is a separate 800-square-foot apartment with its own kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, and front/rear entrances to yourself. It's great for working from home and entertaining and features lots of storage space and access to a two-level back deck and a peaceful front porch. The downstairs unit is an 800 square foot one-bedroom apartment with lots of storage space. Because we are on a hill, the back side of the unit is a flight of stairs above street level, so the kitchen gets plenty of natural light. The bedroom, in the front of the house, does not. We love Mount Pleasant and our Hobart Street block, nestled among Rock Creek Park's running and hiking trails. Our block comes together several times a year for Hobart Porchfest, Halloween, and a community yard sale. We have great neighbors who are usually able to help with anything you might be in need of. 12-month lease. Access to garage for storage and bicycle parking, but only street parking available for a car. Utilities not included in rent, can be fully split with upstairs tenants or can pay electricity separately. (Water and internet will be split regardless.) Eligibility Criteria (per DC law) Applicants must show: - Verifiable income of at least 3x monthly rent (voucher payments count toward income) - Good rental and credit history (no recent evictions or unpaid housing debt) - Proof of employment or other steady income - Valid government-issued photo ID - Maximum two occupants for this one-bedroom unit We comply with all DC fair housing laws and do not discriminate based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, source of income (including vouchers), or any other protected status.
District law requires that a housing provider state that the housing provider will not refuse to rent a rental unit to a person because the person will provide the rental payment, in whole or in part, through a voucher for rental housing assistance provided by the District or federal government.
