Ours is a unique two bedroom, second-story apartment in gorgeous Litchfield town center. Enjoy an easy stroll from your apartment to restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, antiques and cafes. The home, originally built in 1800 as a coal barn, is set away from the road and nestled on just under 2 acres of sprawling lawn and gardens. In summer, enjoy fresh herbs and vegetables from our garden. In winter, snow shoeing and skiing are near-by. In spring, our flowers are in full bloom and, of course, our Fall foliage is magnificent and a must-see.
The Apartment:
To access the apartment, enter through the home's original robust Dutch door. Climb the unique stairwell which divides half way up. Continue up 5 steps to the left for the 2 large, beautiful bedrooms. Continue up 4 steps to the right to find the full bathroom and combined eat-in kitchen and living room.
Free parking is available off the driveway for one car. A second spot can be arranged.
The driveway is shared by our family lawn, garden and snow removal business (Colonial Lawn and Gardens). You may see our trucks leaving during weekdays at 8 am and returning at 5 pm. Our driveway is always the first one to be plowed!
Outside the first floor door to the apartment is a shared porch space used by our first floor tenant. You are welcomed to also use the table and chairs on this outdoor deck. Our tenant is the matriarch of our family and is quiet, kind and loves to chat about Lichfield.
Nearby attractions include the Litchfield Town Green, Litchfield Historical Society, Tapping Reeve House and Law School, Oliver Wolcott Library, and White Memorial Conservation Center. Come and enjoy this apartment in the charming town of Litchfield!
