o Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV): Since Passive House projects are airtight, they need a
ventilation system to bring in fresh air and exhaust out built-up pollutants, odors, CO2, and
moisture. This house employs a Mitsubishi mini-split system (one zone per floor) for hot and
cool air delivery. There is also an ERV system running 24/7 to draw fresh air in and remove
the stale air. The unit uses a MERV 13 Filter which can trap smaller particles, including
