Classic, clean, light, and large 2 br 1 ba apartment in a vintage frame 2 flat building. 2 blocks to Portage Park (with new tennis pickleball, and soccer courts, Olympic sized pool, diving area, and splash pad, and dog park!). It's less than a half mile to 3 different playgrounds for those with kids. One block away from Portage Park Elementary School. Less than a mile to 6 corners with new Target and Aldi. A mile to the Montrose Blue line and an easy commute to the loop or a bike ride up or down Milwaukee.
This is a vintage building, but there have been many updates over the last few years. This apartment is partially renovated, starting with a brand new kitchen gut rehab (new tall shaker cabinets, concrete countertops, new floor, newer appliances), bath renovation, and renovated bedrooms and living room. Other updates throughout. The back bedroom is quite large, first is average-large. Separate living and dining rooms (with classic built-in hutch!). Central heat, but window AC. New copper plumbing throughout. Much of the building has new wiring as well. New electric service and breaker box. New roof recently.
Shared free laundry in the basement with new washer and dryer. Storage available on back landing and possibly more to be worked out in the basement and/or around the house. Includes parking pad space in back! Parking isn't bad in front either for guests (not permit parking) or if you just prefer to park in front.
This is an owner-occupied building. We live in the 2nd apartment with 4 young kids, a dog, and cats. While we are respectful of our tenants, I can't promise you the most quiet experience. That said, bedtime is around 830-9 and our friendly but large dog rarely barks! We are friendly, helpful, and the neighbors around us are great as well! We have absolutely loved living here the past 7 years.
Owner pays for water. Renter responsible for gas, electric, and cable/internet. First month's rent plus security deposit due at signing. Pets will have a $100 additional security deposit each. Smoking permitted on front porch (10 ft from door) or parking area only.
This is a one-year lease, but we're open to longer-term agreements. Interior regular maintenance of the unit is expected of the occupants as far as general upkeep. Any modifications (hanging large objects like tvs or large photos) need to be discussed with owner.
