This renovated Victorian condo is in the "Bushrod" part of the Oakland/Berkeley border. This neighborhood has been one of the "hottest" markets in the US due to it's walkability, diversity, and great BART/Bus access.
It is within walking distance to Ashby (10 min), Rockridge (25 min), and MacArthur (45 min) BART stations and Rockridge, Elmwood, and Adeline shopping districts. This is a great central neighborhood for those who wish to live without a car as everything is within reach. Whole Foods, Berkeley Bowl, Safeway, and other great shops surround this diverse, safe, and quiet neighborhood. After living here for 5 years, we still love everything about it. We walk 10 mins to Thai, Chilean, Indian, Vegan, Pizza, Sushi, Mexican, and Ethiopian restaurants; and a local park provides tennis courts and soccer/ baseball fields.
The other residents are busy professionals or UCB grad students in their late 20s to early 40s. All are mature, thoughtful people who enjoy the area and all that it offers.
This unit is a large 3 bedroom/2ba that could house up to four adults comfortably. It measures 1,350 Square Feet and has 9 foot ceilings, a wide hallway, and ample storage. It also has an in-unit laundry, a gas stove, dishwasher, two completely remodeled bathrooms, and NEW kitchen, a 5 ft long claw foot tub, two decorative fireplaces, and a South facing, sunny deck off the kitchen.
The commutes via 13, 24, 80, 580, and 880 are easy and bypass a lot of traffic, so your commute time is much less than other neighborhoods. It is a 10 minute walk to Ashby BART (and a 20 min ride to SF Financial District), a 10 safe minute bike to UCB (or a 15 min bus ride), and ~25 minutes to Concord/Pleasant via HWY 24.
