Frequently asked questions
Zillow started as a tech company that believed the agent-client relationship can’t be duplicated or replaced by technology. Today, we are reimagining the real estate transaction to make it simple, seamless, and delightful for our customers. Our partners are at the heart of this evolution and will be critical in delivering an integrated transaction experience. Using advanced technology, providing access to better data, and developing new models for how we partner with agents are all part of our mission to simultaneously help agents grow their businesses while streamlining the buying and selling process for our mutual customers.
No. It does not cost agents money to put a for-sale listing on Zillow in Canada or the U.S.
No. Listing agents are never charged for leads on their own listings. Since our inception, we have always enabled listing agents to post their listings on Zillow to help them get consumer attention on their listings.
As of January 2021, Zillow will get listings directly from the local Board or MLS® via an IDX feed in most markets. We made this change from our previous feed structure to help toward Zillow’s goal of offering our 200 million unique monthly visitors the most up-to-date and comprehensive listing information possible.
Agents in the U.S. who advertise with Zillow are called Premier Agents. In most markets, they receive advertising and connections to home shoppers in the geographic areas the agent is advertising. In Flex markets, Zillow provides connections to potential buyers at no upfront cost to agents. Instead, partners pay a success fee only when they close a transaction. Flex is only available to select agent partners at this time.
Zillow Premier Agents have access to Zillow's suite of software and technology solutions that help them maximize business opportunities and connect with the millions of consumers who come to Zillow Group’s brands every day.
Premier Agents use Zillow’s tools and services to:
- Grow their online presence
- Build relationships and connect with home shoppers and sellers
- Manage their lead pipeline
- Elevate their listings and brand to the largest real estate network on the web
Zillow Premier Agent will launch in Canada in the future. We will share more details at that time, and in the meantime are continuing to look for opportunities to partner more closely with agents.
In 2019, Zillow Group sites saw over 8 billion visits and an average of 185 million monthly unique users. Agents and brokers benefits from the visibility their listing receives from that traffic to the Zillow platform.
Additionally, all real estate agents can create an agent profile for free. Your agent profile is a great way for you to build your brand, promote your listings, and establish yourself as a local expert by showcasing reviews from customers.
