Hello. We are looking for a friendly, kind, and courteous room mate. We aspire to be the same for you. :) b Location: /b The house is in a prime location, directly on the 7 bus route, which goes downtown, to the U of M, and toward Minnehaha falls. We are also just a couple blocks off of the C rapid-transit route, which comes every 10 minutes, and brings you to downtown Minneapolis in 15 minutes flat. If you enjoy biking, there is easy access ( .5 mile, all on bike lanes) to the beautiful Minneapolis greenway and bike trail system, which also includes thrilling mountain biking trails. For a more relaxing ride, you can bike almost exclusively on paved paths to the chain of lakes and around lake Calhoun. It is an awesome and relaxing way to spend a saturday. Many of us get around by car. If you work anywhere North, South, or West of downtown Minneapolis, then you won't have to deal with traffic anymore. Because the majority of cars go toward the center of the city in the morning and away in the evening, those of us making the opposite drive get to wave and smile as we pass the stopped traffic on the other side of the divider. :) Lastly, we are 6 blocks (1/2 mile) from a 759 acre park, Theodore Wirth Park. It won the Citypages "Best Park of the Twin Cities" award. I love going to the lake, swimming, watching beach volleyball, and using the mountain-bike trails, all within walking distance of my home. They also have an 18-hole golf course and cross country ski trails. All in all, the location provides easy access to many avenues of transportation and recreation. b The house: /b The home is a well-maintained 1926 bungalo, complete with hutch and hardwood floors. While we just have one room available, you can have your pick of which one you prefer, the white second-floor room or the red 1st floor room (different prices, see below). Another roommate will graciously accept the other room. One thing to note: The kitchen is currently patched for painting and prime for a remodel when the funds are next available. There are also some spots in the carpet where one of the cats has tried to dig under the door to cuddle up next to a human. That behavior is currently blocked with a rubber welcome matt at the doorway, so you can't even see those areas. b The people: /b I, Andy, am a 42 year-old engineer, computer programmer and entrepreneur. I enjoy playing volleyball, biking, and designing things and companies. I value sleep, and try to keep volume levels comfortable for all. :) Victor is a 24 year old music education graduate who works in sales at a biomed company and enjoys umpiring baseball/softball on the side. He loves music and plays guitar, piano, bassoon and sings. Steven was born in Florida, but has spent a good amount of time traveling to different parts of the world. He's lived in Florida, England, Utah and California, and has spent time with americorp. He's also was a firefighter for a while. When fully rented, the house fits 4 people. I travel much of the time, so I may or may not be there at any given time (then it would have just 3). b Rent: /b Rent is normally $849 for the 2nd floor room and $799 for the 1st floor rooms, but if you choose to take care of the house and yard as it if it was your own, I can offer a $150 discount, making rent $699 (2nd floor) or $649 (1st floor) instead. b Conclusion: /b I look forward to talking with you!
