We have made many updates and improvements in the almost 2 years since we have had the pleasure of owning and living in this lovely and comfortable home. I love this home more than anywhere I have lived in the last 30 years of my life. It has absolutely solid bones and so much character. Our family enjoys being here for special occasions and it's the perfect place for our grandchildren to romp and play freely. We are convenient to absolutely EVERYTHING in town, as well as being just a few walking blocks from Maryville High School and within very close proximity to the Junior High and Sam Houston Elementary. This neighborhood can't be beat for safety and walking. The hardwood floors need some work due to a poor refinishing job; but, it's not going to take much to make them gorgeous and durable, as they already have an absolutely beautiful, warm patina! The kitchen is a great place to be for meal preparation, and the dining area is just a few steps away in its own area away from the bustle of the kitchen. Yet, you can still have a cozy conversation with the cook. We have added new storm windows to the exterior, along with charming new landscaping. The yard is level and easy to care for, and so are the garden areas that are fully planted with beautiful native shrubs and flowers. We were thankfully able to save the existing mature rhododendrons that bloom magnificently in the spring! As for the interior, we removed all the old wall radiators and professionally patched all uneven areas before adding a fresh coat of warm neutral paint to all interior walls, and repainted all the white wood trim to make them uniform and cleanable. The mudroom/laundry is roomy and has the original solid wood pine paneling that adds to the charm of this craftsman type home; and the added bathroom is very convenient from the kitchen, the attached garage, and back yard.
