Distinctive and magical Cayuga lakefront home with large deck wrapped around a 300-year oak tree, multiple office spaces, 100 feet of lake front, large dock, fire pit, lake views from most rooms, and views of Cornell University. There are three bedrooms upstairs, each with its own balcony. Two queens and one king bed. There's an office/kids room on the first floor. The "tea house" down by the lake can serve as another office or guest room with a full futon. There's also a daybed in the living room which can accommodate overnight guests. There's a well stocked kitchen and a dining room that can seat 8. It's a bit cold now but there is a large dining table on the porch as well. A propane stove and electric baseboards keep the house toasty even on the coldest days. There is a 80 inch projection screen in the living room and very fast mesh internet throughout the house. While everyone loves the lake in the summer, the winter is also lovely. The views are still spectacular and the cold plunges are invigorating. The house is in the Town of Ithaca and only two miles (about 5 to 7 minutes) from downtown and 12 minutes to Cornell. This is a great place for a large family or a pod of friends to escape from the city and telework until spring. We are looking for someone to rent the house for up to three months beginning in early January through early April. The house is furnished, utilities are included, and pets are welcome. No smoking allowed. There is off street parking for several cars, but the driveway is steep, so you may have to park up at the top of the hill if snow or ice is expected until the plow comes.
