Burgess Homestead is locally significant as a fine example of the Federal-style architecture. The original house served as a family homestead and the local post office for the area during the mid-19th century. The house was built circa 1710 with subsequent sections added until the mid-1800's making it a 4-unit multifamily with lots of charm and character.
