About the house: We are very laid back people looking for someone who is chill to be one of our roommates. The house has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, and is a very spacious 2300 sq. ft. There is a huge loft area, easily converted to a game area, internet cafe, wrestling ring, golf practice or whatever you like. There is plenty of space throughout for your things. There is also plenty of parking spots and storage space in the garage if you need it. If that is not enough, there is a pool and a park across the street. About the room: The bedroom measures about 10 x 11 and includes a shared bathroom. There is wifi internet access plus a closet in the room. Its upstairs so you have more privacy. If you are into decorating you can painted the room any color you prefer. If you like to cook there is a very nice kitchen with plenty of room in the fridge. You have to come see it for yourself. Everyone is very chill and kind of does their own thing. We hang out together every once in a while, so you don't have to hide in your room all the time. We try to keep the place clean and tidy at all times. If you want to move in: You must be friendly. You must be neat/clean and respectful of others. FAQs: (from recent questions) Q:Do I have to share a bathroom? A:The master bedroom has its own bathroom (partly why it costs more, that and it's a bigger room). There are two other bathrooms in the house. One bathroom for every two rooms, so at most you would be sharing the bathroom with one other person unless you have the master bedroom. Q:Does this include any utilities? A:The price above is for the rent only, utilities are as follows. Utilities include TV, Internet, Electricity, Water, Gardening for a fixed cost of $100 a month ea. Q:How about the laundry situation? A:So you want to have clean clothes to wear all the time? Well then can you do my laundry too? Joking, laundry is not a problem everyone does it on their own time and there has never been a time conflict. Also the washer and dryer are new. Q:Do I get my own room? A:No, you will get to live in one of the closets of a room in a tiny corner of the house. Of course you will get your own room. Q:Do you rent rooms to Ninjas ? A: Ninjas preferred pending you fulfill one mission for me. Q:Do you rent rooms to Pirates? (Someone who robs at sea without having a commission from any sovereign nation.) A: No Pirates unless your name is Johnny Depp. Q:Do you allow smoking? A:Yes and no. No one in the house smokes but if you must then smoking is limited to outside. No smoking in the house. Q:Is there a closet in the room? A:Yes, there is. Q:Is there lease or is it month to month? A:That is a good question. Originally I was looking to create a lease, but some people did not want one. Some people on the other hand want a lease. I am very flexible in this area. I would love it if you stayed as long as you want. I give a discount if you sign a one year lease, the amount listed as the rent includes the discount. If you want a month to month then add $50 a month to the current rent, it is up to you. Q:Will there be a background check? A:I will need a DNA sample and for you to pee in a cup. Also a birth certificate and 9 personal and 9 professional references as well as your employers phone number. I will also do a criminal record check. (N i n j a 's are exempt from all of the above). Actually, all I need is for you to fill out some information about yourself for a credit check, this will cost you $35. Q:Do you have wireless internet or wired? A:We have a cable modem with wireless access. Q:Is there any furniture in the room? A:The room is unfurnished but if you need help finding furniture we would be willing to help. I may have a futon you can borrow. Q:I don't have a car so I was wondering if SDSU is anywhere near?(NEW) A:Depends on your definition of "near". Google Maps Q:Can my girl/boyfriend come over?(NEW) A:Sure, of course they can. We want you and your significant other to have a good time. Just don't involve me in your drama and remember we are renting the room to you, not both of you. Q:If I rent the room, can I move in early?(NEW) A:You are more then welcome to start moving your stuff over. We have plenty of room in the garage and through out the house. Q:If I am a dog, can I rent out space for $100 a month?(NEW) A:If you sleep in the backyard and stay outside most of the time, yes. Q:What is the parking situation like?(NEW) A:The spots in the driveway are assigned by seniority. The longer you have been at the house the more likely you will have a parking spot in the driveway. There is one exception to this rule. If your car is leaking oil/fluids/gas, then #1 you can't park in the driveway and #2 you should get it fixed. With that said, there is plenty of parking right in front of the house and across the street. Q:Can two people rent one room?(NEW) A:We have a strict one person per room policy. Exceptions to the rule are as follows: two girls, one room = yes; three girls, one room = big yes; if you pay double/tripple for one room and the landlord (read me) needs some more cash to support his wife shoe collection or maybe buy a boat to just chill and kick back on Mission Bay then yes; Batman and Robbin want to convert the room into a secret bat cave then yes. Q:I am from the United Kingdom or Philippines or Siberia and I want to rent your room. I will fly in next week, blah blah blah.
