Hillside Farm is the personal homestead of renowned architect, R. Brognard Okie. Set on 11.2 acres of rolling meadow in Easttown Township, the building foundations date to 1717. The house was redone in 1810 and Okie purchased it in 1902. It served as his laboratory where he crafted his simple, elegant colonial revival style. The building is brown field stone with wide plastered joints allowing only the centers of the stones to show. All of his interior trademarks are intact: rounded door and window jambs, hand-made copies of colonial hardware, millwork details and unique storage spaces built into fireplace surrounds and above doors and under windows. The house has five bedrooms and three and a half baths and a separate apartment. Two tenant houses built by Okie and son Charles are included. Here is a rare opportunity to own, renew, update and preserve a piece of architectural history. Respected architect John Milner has costed out a three tier scale for renovations.
