Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Virginia Highlands. Recently remodeled, the house features a granite and stainless steel kitchen with new beautiful cabinets, original hardwoods throughout, 10' foot ceilings (not the typical 9' of the neighborhood), very open feel, bright sunroom/office, and one of the largest backyards that you'll find in the Morningside/Midtown area. Partial basement is being used as our home-gym, complete with treadmill, weight bench, TV and stereo. We also have plans drawn up for a two car garage and in-law apartment which we will give to the new owner. Spend your time enjoying the neighbors and neighborhood, because the house is already done. All you need to do is move-in! Neighborhood Description The Virginia Highlands area is one of the best intown areas you can live. The pockets of beautiful turn of the century houses here are extremely beautiful, and the landscaping and trees are established and impressive. There is a pretty tight bond between people living in-town, even if you don't know each other, you share some sort of "city" connection. We have a couple of friends in Cumming, Duluth and other areas north, and they seem to have more of a problem with crime (people taking things out of their garages, people breaking in when they are on vacation), then we've ever had here. You have to be smart, but this area is very safe. Intown living seems to bring the more active crowd as well. Every day there are hundreds of people running, biking and walking through the neighborhood. In the morning, it is a 15 minute drive to the airport, 15 minutes to Buckhead, 25 minutes to the Perimeter. Once you learn the back-roads in-town, you'll really never get stuck in traffic again. We actually don't do much driving on the weekends. We park the cars and walk to food, the parks, the library, movie theater, etc. All the major stores are down here as well, Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, Ikea, etc. You really never have to go too far. As long as we live in Atlanta, we will always live in-town. The houses may be smaller for the money than what you could get an hour out, but we always say that the size of the house relates to the closeness of the family, and you just don't get the charm of a 100 year old house, with 10 foot ceilings and original hardwoods and 100 year old Oak trees in new construction. No Smoking on the property. Pets allowed based on approval from Landlord. Water utility to remain in landlord's name, all other utilities to be under tenant's. Basic as expected terms - we'll have a more personal meeting once we know more about your preferences. Tenant basic maintenance of outdoors and indoors, with landlord covering expenses related to the home. Shed behind home for storage.
