You are invited to live in an remodeled Authentic Victorian apartment in Hillcrest/Banker's Hill. 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, with freshly refinished hardwood floors, built in bookshelves, built in cabinets and mirrors and lots of light from old fashioned windows that look out on to the backyard and neighboring lovely homes. NO PETS OR SMOKERS. It is on the 2nd floor, and the stairway, along with the rest of the Victorian building is freshly repainted. There is an a laundry room. Parking spot available for $150 a month. The backyard has two large trees offering shade, and there is going to be a BBQ, dining table. Please do not contact me if you have pets or smoke. Because it has freshly refinished hardwood floors I am looking for someone who will treat it with respect and put pads on any heavy furniture. Situated on the crest of a hill l, amid classic California Spanish homes in the most interesting neighborhood in San Diego. 125 Brookes is a few blocks to Balboa Park (Zoo, Museums, Playgrounds). And a short stroll to the Hillcrest Business district: a progressive, boutiquey, foodie, multiple bookstore, vinyl record shop and art cinema paradise. Hillcrest is the gayest part of San Diego; which historically means great food, antique stores, cafes and boutiques--along with the whiff of friendly, Mardi Gras playfulness on display at Mo's Bar and Grill and the Brass Rail. But Hillcrest and Banker's Hill is more than brunching at Snooze, browsing 5th Ave Bookshop for a Martin Amis first edition while licking your gelato from Chocolat. It's not just eating at Sushi Co., or picking up a fresh baguette at the local baker or stopping by Taang Records to pick up a vinyl of Dark Side of the Moon. Hillcrest is a few short blocks to Balboa Park, where your children can romp on the playground, or shoot arrows at the archery range or have tea in the zen garden, see Elephants at the Zoo, pretend to be an astronaut at the Space museum or go see a play at the Old Globe. Balboa Park is a walkable resource that everyone else in San Diego has to shlep in their cars to experience. You can hike and ride the mountain bike trails, and still be only an 8 minute drive to Little Italy or Downtown; 15 minutes to Mission Beach and 12 minutes to sailing at the Harbor. The neighborhood is the best of San Diego architecture, which means between the Victorian founding and WWII. Victorian detail and 1920s Spanish Stucco houses and buildings are shaded by mature trees. This is where you want to live in San Diego. No pets or smoking. Tenant pays fixed 150 a month for utilities: gas, water and electricity.
