Some of the things we love about living in this area of Silver Spring is its very close proximity to schools, several parks, public transportation, shops, banks, post office, libraries, restaurants, churches and the fire department. Downtown Silver Spring is a very sought after area for socializing with members of the community with food, drink, tasting events, shops, farmers' market, art shows, dancing, mega movie theater, seasonal festivities, and music from great local bands and street artists. Also, the Inter-County Connector (ICC) road is very close by and has made it much more convenient for commuting to the other side of Montgomery County. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Greek Islands Grill, Ghar-E-Kabab (organic Nepali restaurant that does catering), Z Pizza (organic), Buffalo Wings and Beer (lots of fun with great specials), Khana: A Clay Pot (Indian) Grille in nearby Burtonsville, and Cristina Ristorante Italiano in Wheaton, Maryland. We moved to this area of Montgomery County for the excellent schools, low crime rate, close proximity of our desired businesses, community involvement and the peaceful neighborhood. Silver Spring is located in Montgomery County which has some of the best schools in the Washington metropolitan area. That was very significant for my family with three children. This along with the parks, library and close by shopping all made it a very appealing area in which to move.
