Oversized custom glass doors open the entire wall to a large lanai with outdoor dining and lounging furniture, bordering your own private lawn area you get 420 MORE square feet of furnished outdoor living! From there it is a short one minute walk down a beautifully manicured grassy walkway to the 3 pools, beach, and gas BBQ area with Viking grills. I have installed a KEYED lock on the lanai door for secure access. Surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation, the back yard is the most private at Honua Kai due to the exceptional landscaping, and our unique location on the Northern border of the resort with a fence hidden by a hedge providing ultimate privacy. Quickest access to the beach, pools and Viking gas BBQs. You may also choose to walk out the front door of our condo which is situated right by the door to the interior courtyard. Either way, you reach all of the stunning outdoor attractions of this gorgeous resort faster than almost everyone else staying here - they have to take the elevator! You'll only use the elevator to get to the underground parking garage. Prospective tenants that aren't already on island and not subject to quarantine, should research the current 14 day quarantine. Latest Updates (as of Aug 19th): The re-opening of Hawaii tourism without a quarantine has twice been delayed, first through the end of August and again through the end of September. Hawaii is working on a testing program to allow travelers to take a COVID test 72 hours or less before arrival and if negative entry into the islands without a quarantine. Once launched, testing should be available through pharmacies such as CVS and other locations. Originally scheduled to launch starting August 1, it has been delayed by 2 months. Current Honua Kai status: Limited services are available because of limited occupancy right now. Dukes Restaurant, Whalers Food Pantry and Aina market are all closed until occupancy increases. 2 of the pools are open, the Infiniti pool and Luana pool. 4 community BBQ's are open. Gym is closed. Beach is open. Bell / Valet is currently not operating and you must self move luggage to the unit. The resort is much more quiet than it ordinarily is. TheTimes supermarket across the street is open for groceries and some other nearby restaurants are open. Masks are now required per Maui county orders in all common areas of hotels and condominiums unless you are medically unable to wear them, under age of 5, eating / drinking or engaged in a physical activity such as swimming. My Maui ground floor 2/2 luxury condominium home at Honua Kai resort and spa at the beach: Renter pays for electricity (cool air is covered by Owner as part of HOA fees, the power for the fan to blow cool air in is part of the electric bill) and parking at $15 per day plus tax. High speed internet, ooma phone, and cable paid by Owner. Tenant to pay Transient Accommodations tax at 10.25% and General Excise Tax at 4.16%.
