2000+ square foot home, built in 1919 with tons of Craftsman charm. Lots of hardwood floors, a huge kitchen, gigantic bathroom on the main floor and a luxurious spa-like bathroom w/jacuzzi tub and skylights on the top floor. The basement is a full footprint of the house, with a finished family room and work room. Laundry area is unfinished, but very large. The house has recent updates throughout, incl. beautiful hardwood framed double pane windows. The yard and garden are park-like with many rhododendrons, peonies, roses, daylilies, wisteria, clematis, etc... blooming from early spring until late fall. We have had many wonderful bbq's and garden parties over the years. Neighborhood Description Our neighborhood and neighbors are wonderful. The former Burien Mayor is just 3 houses away from us. Very close knit neighbord with an annual block party every August. Hazel Valley elementary was rebuilt in 04/05, re-opened in 2005 and is just 2 blocks from our house. We love the school and teachers there. Wonderful school district! Most of the schools are being rebuilt. We are within 3 blocks of Chelsea park and within easy walking distance to Burien Community Center and Burien Library. This neighborhood is just getting better all of the time. And with the recent renovations to the Olde Burien area, and the planned construction of Town Square, we are seeing a greater influx of people interested in living here. Also, I work in downtown Seattle and my commute is easier and faster than friends we have who make the downtown trip from West Seattle. I've lived in the Burien area all of my life, so I love it, but I also see it changing in an ever positive direction.
