It was built in 1900 and thoughtfully updated in 2017. Many of the charming, historic elements remain. The location is well suited for guests who would like to walk to local shops, restaurants, and nightlife establishments. The highlands is an eclectic neighborhood with the largest concentration of local businesses in the city, catering to locals and guests. Street parking is available for guests and readily available. You will enter through the front door via a digital keypad and enter the entrance hall. Immediately to the left is a dining room with comfortable seating for 6 guests. The built-ins, dry bar, and tray ceiling give the historic space a modern feel. The fireplace is non-working. From the dining room, you will enter the living room, with seating for 5...one sofa and two chairs. The sofa converts into a bed for an additional sleeping area. The TV features HULU tv for live, streaming TV. The fireplace is non-working. Directly off the dining room, in the rear of the house, is a well-stocked kitchen - completely updated with granite countertops and stainless appliances. The kitchen contains a full bathroom, which serves as a half bath for the first floor but also features a shower for guests using the living room sofa. A small number of guests have stated the first-floor full bathroom was inconvenient for guests sleeping on the second floor to use for showers. Please make note of this for any privacy issues within your group. You can exit the back door of the kitchen to enter the private backyard space with pea gravel sitting area and wooden picnic table for al fresco dining. Just around the corner is a partially-covered patio with a small outdoor kitchen space and gas grill. Please check the propane level of the gas grill prior to use. We do not monitor propane levels. Additional propane is available 2 blocks away at Walgreens if needed. At the far end of the entrance hall is a large laundry room with washer and dryer. We provide laundry pods and dryer sheets for your convenience. At the top of the stairs, you will come to a full bathroom, which serves the two send-floor bedrooms. Both bedrooms feature wall-to-wall carpet, which is especially welcome in the winter. Both bedrooms feature comfortable queen mattresses, tall ceilings, and historic elements. Both fireplaces are non-working. The house is heated and cooled by a central forced-air HVAC system. A small number of guests have experienced warm temperatures on the second floor during the hottest days of the year. We provide window blinds and supplemental portable HVAC systems for each bedroom and ceiling fans to help cool the space and circulate air.
