Once upon a time I lived in a bungalow by the sea. I took my breakfast in an old fashioned-kitchen and washed up in a little bathroom where I could play with rubber ducks and toy boats. On sunny days (which came more often than you might think) I played out back with Birds of Paradise and Kangaroo Paws. On colder nights my parents and I read Dr. Seuss by the fire before going to sleep soothed by the sound of ocean waves. My folks thought we'd stay forever and even drew up big plans to change the funny bathroom and extra spaces downstairs into more places to sleep, read and play. But fate played us a different hand and we headed North instead. Now the house sits all dressed up but empty waiting to embrace new friends and lovers.
