- 1, possibly 2, bedrooms available in 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment - both bedrooms could come furnished, or I could leave both empty. My preference would be to furnish one of the rooms. - available for move in September 1st with some potential flexibility about exact date, would like someone to stay on until at least June 1, 2016 - $990/month per room plus standard utilities (cable & internet, natural gas heat, electricity. That equals about $40/month total in summer, up to $100/month total in winter) - near corner of Allston St and Wyman St. in west Medford About the apartment and your room: - the rooms are 12' X 12'. the bed in the picture is queen-sized - 1600 sq. foot apartment - bedroom can come furnished if you'd like with a double or queen bed, bedside table, lamp, desk, desk chair, and regular chair - hardwood floors throughout except kitchen and bath are white tile - full kitchen includes built-in microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, gas stove, oven, fridge - programmable thermostat helps reduce heating bills - many new windows and new skylights in each bedroom - 1.5 baths - cable hook-up in bedroom - extra large-capacity washer and dryer in the apartment, only a few years old - storage in the basement and attic - big backyard (hammock and patio set available for summer use!) - it's the whole top floor (3rd) of a large Victorian house; there are two large skylights in the living room/dining room, another in the kitchen, and then skylights in each bedroom, so those plus regular windows give us TONS of direct light - view of the city from the living room - common areas come completely furnished with the essentials (couches, desk, TV and stand, lamps, end tables, dining table and chairs, kitchen table, kitchenware, etc) but there's still some room for your stuff if you want - great cell phone service (being we're on the top floor near the top of a hill I guess) - on-street parking, no permit required, parking in front of house never a problem (we're the only house which doesn't have a garage or driveway so there's plenty of room, it's not like Somerville where you'll drive around looking for parking) and is very safe. Also there are no parking restrictions - they only do street sweeping once in the spring and fall. About the neighborhood: - I listed Medford/Arlington/Somerville/Winchester on the ad because it's in a part of west Medford that is also just blocks from Winchester to the north, Arlington to the west, and 1/2 mile from Somerville to the south - 5-10 minute bike ride, 20-25 minute walk, or 3 minute drive to Tufts University (I have an extra bike you can use if you'd like to give it a tune up) - local buses to Davis Sq., Lechmere T stop on the green line/Cambridgeside Galleria mall, Sullivan Sq., Haymarket, Woburn center, Harvard Sq. 80, 94, 95, 134, 325, 326 - 4 blocks from the West Medford Commuter Rail stop (first stop on the Lowell line) which takes you into downtown Boston *North Station/TD Banknorth Garden) in 1 stop (only 10 min train ride). You can't hear the train from the apartment. A monthly T/subway pass also covers the commuter rail fare to this stop so you don't have to pay for it if you have a pass. Taking an Uber home from downtown only costs $15-20 - only 2-3 blocks from West Medford center which has a great breakfast diner, take-out places (subs, Chinese, Italian, seafood), Dunkin Donuts, Snappy Patties bar/restaurant (LOVE), liquor store, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Post Office, dry cleaner, florist, Italian food shop/bakery, a women's gym, ice cream shop, bank, convenience store, gas station, women's salon, barber shop, 5 blocks to Whole Foods and Starbucks and not too far from a Shaws or Stop N Shop -one block from a small park and only a few blocks from the Middlesex Fells Reservation (for biking, hiking, walking etc), also only a few blocks from tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball court, baseball field; and just beyond that are the Mystic Lakes where you can swim and it has a boa
