The house is single wall, built of a sandwich of plywood on the inside and hardi-board (a cement-pulp product) on the outside. The ceiling is woven bamboo and the floor is solid moabi wood.The metal roof is lined with radiant barrier which keeps the house pleasantly cool on warm days. The 8,000-gallon water catchment tank is ferro-cement which keeps the water cool and pH neutral. Other buildings: 2) Power shed and storage (6' x 20'). 3) Office and art room (16 x 20) with pagoda entry. 4) Cottage (16' x 20') with its own concrete composting toilet. 5) Carport and work area (16' x 24'). Main house is permitted, other structures are not.PONDS: Besides the large tilapia pond, there are three other smaller ponds: a water lily pond adjoining the large tilapia pond; a small pond in front of the cottage lanai with water hyacinths and water lilies; a serviceable pond in the chicken yard/orchard which provides water for the chickens.FRUIT and NUTS: Over 20 named varieties of producing 10-year old fruit trees. Many dwarf coconuts, a macadamia nut and a cashew. Many bananas (dwarf varieties), many pineapples, several papayas. Citrus: orange, pommelo (similar to grapefruit), tangerine, lemon and lime. Tropicals: longan, lychee, rambutan, eggfruit, mango, abiu, starfruit, tamarind, breadfruit, mountain apple, jaboticaba, moringa, and peach palms.
