Buff Straub & Hensman, Architects with additions by Architect Stephen Hans Nuetzel. With its orientation to panoramic views encompassing San Rafael, the San Gabriels, & out to San Ggornio, & San Jacinto, and its dialogue with nature, the clearly defined architecture of Buff, Straub, and Hensman was irresistible. Architect Steve Nuetzel had to make a home for his family. But space was needed for his in-home design studio & reception area. The solution was clear. Utilizing an architectural vocabulary in keeping with the spirit of the original architecture, space was captured below the original residence. With respect for its listing on the National Register of Historic Places the footprint of the original design was maintained. The result feels more like a completion rather than an addition.
