The architecture here is Greek Revival. 8 of these houses, built in 1857 by Horace Fairbanks for his foundry workers, sit in a row near where they were originally built. They were moved, enmasse, in 1871, by the Fairbanks family, who built a mansion which looked over the cottages of the workers. The mansion was torn down in 1938. All eight cottages still stand proudly, in a row. Here is your opportunity to call one of them Home Sweet Home. Welcome to St Johnsbury. St Johnsbury Academy is just around the corner.
