We have Master Bedroom available end of July for move in offered for $1,950+$150 (all utilities/wifi/garbage) total $2,100 per month (add $150 per month for second tenant in Master = $2,250/month).
The Master bedroom has a sliding glass door to beautiful deck semi-private covered deck and a few steps to 10'x30' amazing deck with built-in benches and lots of sunshine!
This is a 'must see' property you will fall in love with! Lots of 'magic' up here in the redwoods and Santa Cruz mountains. About this area: The property is surrounded by redwoods with views of San Lorenzo Valley and Fall Creek State Park. The setting is tranquil and very private but we have easy access to downtown Felton and beyond (Scotts Valley 10 mins, UCSC +-25 mins). We are on the 'school side' of Hwy 9 with much less traffic than coming from further down the valley (Ben Lomond and Boulder Creek) so you can get in and out quickly and on your way to Santa Cruz or Hwy 17 and beyond quickly! The property backs to Fall Creek State Park and there are so many opportunities to be active here or simply relax and breath the fresh air! Lots of immediate hiking in beautiful Fall Creek State Park starting right from the property, mushroom hunting and mountain biking at nearby Henry Cowell State Park Also, there are a lot of nice swimming holes along the San Lorenzo River and, within a couple miles, you will find old growth redwoods and the Roaring Camp Railroad (we can hear the steam train whistle in the distance sitting on our large redwood deck ).
About the house: This is a large craftsman 3,100 square foot home built in 1979, situated on a lush, mostly level, 2/3rd acre lot nestled in the redwoods backing to Fall Creek State Park. There is a spacious living room with floor to ceiling rock fireplace and Jotul insert and 23' high gorgeous redwood plank ceilings, enormous wall of windows with wonderful valley views! The large Dining Room/Study area has a large oak table and full-length bar with 4 stools looking into living room and the large Kitchen has all the equipment/supplies you will need to cook gourmet meals including 5 gas burners and 2 full sized refrigerator/freezers with filtered water and ice dispenser. The wrap-around redwood deck is a gem with awesome views and features a 10'x 30' main open section off living room slider with built-in benches and additional teak furniture, shared by all. It is on the sunny side of house and on opposite side there is a convenient and relaxing shared laundry area under covered front deck complete with washer/dryer, extra freezer storage, whicker furniture and supplies rack in our 'Laundry Cafe' (see photo).
About the Master Bathroom: there is an antique vanity and an enclosed room with toilet and walk-in shower. Plenty of room with option of sink use while toilet/shower room pocket door closed.
About us: We are a friendly community here where you will be sharing common space with 3 other tenants in main house (kitchen, living and dining room, decks and laundry); I encourage you to meet not only myself, as I live in Guest House on property, but also talk with other tenants if visiting property before you make a final decision to lease here--it is important for all the housemates here to co-exist in an inclusive culture of safety and respect. As stated above, I live on the property in the separate Guest House, sharing common space but respect tenant privacy and am available to quickly address repairs, set up work orders and provide any necessary on-site support you might need.
Other important notes, House rules and expectations...
One car parking space per person on property by house there are a few guest parking spaces on street just off property.
Occasional overnight guests are okay with notification to other housemates if more than 14 nights within 6 month period there will be nominal charge of $20 per night charge to help defer additional utility costs incurred(set rate).
We strongly encourage all tenants to join in our All House meetings to share important news, check off on any repair/maintenance items and keep a good flow of in person conversation going related to safety, house needs, neighborhood opportunities, etc.
No drugs or smoking of any kind allowed on property! Also, expectation is no abnormal high usage of shared wifi and utilities. This includes in part, but not exclusively, use for business or profit such as crypto mining or other activities that increase utility costs above normal usage.
Monthly Electric/Gas/Water/Garbage/Hi-Speed Xfinity Internet cost is $150 per month for each tenant--this is a set rate based on an average over the entire year and is a non-negotiable, fixed monthly cost for each tenant.
Note to commuters to Silicon Valley--it's 25 minutes to Los Gatos and there are Google, Netflix and Apple etc. buses. Without traffic, travel is 35 minutes to SJC Manetta International Airport. This is a great jumping off spot for 'day trips' to Monterey/Carmel (hour), San Francisco (hour 20 minutes), Napa (2 hours) and entire Bay Area
The property is on city water, has gas stove and heating and is on septic (a few common sense rules here apply). No AC but rarely missed except for a few of the hottest days over summer. We have the best of all worlds straddling the edge of an organized city and all the forest has to offer .
Entire house has excellent Xfinity high speed wifi. Newer Outlets with USB plugs throughout house including bedrooms. We keep premises clean and organized for everyone's enjoyment and safety and will expect new housemates to help share responsibilities to keep it as such. We like to have peace and quiet after 10pm but with notice, occasional guests and parties are welcome...
There is limited storage inside the house (a couple shelves outside of bedroom and pantry shelf and cupboard in kitchen), and more negotiable space by arrangement. You will have ample storage space inside of two full refrigerator/freezers in large kitchen.
Natural and planted landscaping surround house with many mature redwood trees, fir and oak-maintained by landlord.
House is on septic so there are some rules around what goes down the sinks and toilets to be strictly followed to keep everything flowing and in good working order;)
Although this is a pet friendly house with dogs and cats on property, at this time we are not accepting tenants with pets for this bedroom in main house.
If interested in renting, please be able to pay security deposit 1.5x rent to hold property until screening/background checks complete and contract is signed; first month's rent and utilities due with move in for code and keys. This is a rental/lease requirement. You must also be able willing to purchase the appropriate kind and amount/level of renters insurance to meet your needs and demonstrate that you have done so upon occupancy or sign waiver.

Master Bedroom rent is $1,950 plus $150 Utilities/Garbage/HiSpeed Xfinity Wifi per tenant each month for total of $2,100 (single tenant or $2,200 couple). A $40 non-refundable credit/screening report from RentPrep will be run--fee will be collected by RentPrep upon confirmed interest after viewing property in person, and before signing contract. $1,950 Security Deposit is required for Master Bedroom. We are pet friendly but not accepting new tenants with pets at this time. No smoking or drugs are allowed anywhere on property. No illegal activities will be tolerated. You cannot run a business from this property nor mine crypto-currency or use utilities in other than a typical manner or create excessive use and expense. One guest per tenant with agreement with housemates visiting with overnight privileges by arrangement; If tenant has overnight guests for more than 14 days in 6 month period there will be a an additional utility charge of $20 per night to help defer costs associated with this. Parking for guests is off property on Quail Glen as space available. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.
