The nearby Tijuana River can affect ocean water quality and occasionally causes unpleasant odors in the air, especially at night or after storms. It's not constant, but worth mentioning. Heads-Up (Literally!) Our location is near the Naval Outlying Landing Field in Imperial Beach, so you may occasionally hear or see military helicopters flying overhead. It's usually brief and not a daily occurrence, but we like to let guests know in advance some find it interesting, others barely notice.
