Our parents moved to Arlington in 1951 right after our father received his degree in veterinary medicine from Kansas State. Arlington is a town of about 1.500 residents. It is a bedroom community for several of its residents that work in Fremont (10-15 minutes to the east) and Omaha (35-45 minutes to the southeast). Arlington school system facts can be found at the following link. https://www.publicschoolreview.com/arlington-high-school-profile/68002. Washington county fairgrounds are located here and highway 30 goes through the south side of Arlington. Gnuse Construction a home town builder that brought skilled craftsmanship which featured handmade kitchen cabinets along with no shortcuts. The main floor consists of a living room with two picture windows facing the west with ceiling fans and a fireplace with gas logs. The kitchen has a nook which has picture windows looking out over the Elkhorn River Valley. If the weather permits you can walk out onto the deck through a door off the nook. The laundry room is just off the door going to the three car garage which features an oversized sink. The outside of the home is part native stone from our parents home state of Kansas. The other part of the outside is wood. The basement is mostly finished with a part that is not that is used for storage; the storage area features an oversized sink. The basement has a covered cement patio with a two person swing. The basement could be converted to a "mother in law" apartment. Our parents planned ahead in case one of their parents would come and live with them. At the time the was built they had kitchen hookups roughed in. They never had the need to put in a kitchen in the basement however the basics are there. The basement has a walkout door with a large cement stairway on the southside that leads up the outside of the east side of the house. The basement bathroom has only a shower. There are potentially three bedrooms, however our father used one of the bedrooms for an office. Our mother was very involved in the landscape which includes a sprinkler system. Between her flower garden and the several trees they have planted (her favorite was her Redbuds) was her passion and brought her much joy. In her later years she was frustrated when she was unable to get out and pull weeds and tend to her flowers and trees. This is an amazing home for either a retiring couple or a young active family.
