Stevens Elementary school is 1 block away to the east across the street. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly, with the small, yet very popular Volunteer Market Cafe on the corner. Huge, turn of the century homes dot the neighborhood in the characteristic northwest architectural style. Most of the streets have alleys, which gives the feeling of more space between homes. Fantastic and affordable restaurants, coffee bars and shops are approximately 1/2 mile away on 15th ave east. For eastside commuters, you can not be much more conveniently located as the entrance to 520 is a 5 minute drive away to the north. The main UW campus is in that same area.
