    1750 Swann Street NW is a three story, 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath Victorian rowhouse. The house was built in 1893, and is one of ten houses built as a single development. It is a certified historic structure, and is within the Dupont Circle Historic District. The home has central air conditioning; washer/dryer; security system; and hard-wire cable, internet, and phone. Heat is hot water / radiator, and there is central air conditioning. The house is expected to be available for rent in early to mid September 2021. The 1700 block of Swann Street is a quiet, ginkgo tree-lined one-way street north of Dupont Circle. It is walking distance to Connecticut Avenue and the Embassy District; south of U Street and Adams Morgan; and close to markets, restaurants and coffee shops. The house underwent a complete renovation and update in 2010, but retains many of its original nineteenth century details, including pocket door, ornamental woodwork, and fireplace mantels. Front entrance is through two custom mahogany doors, into a foyer with an original black and the white harlequin marble floor, and then through a small hall that leads into both the living room and the dining room, which are separated by a functioning original sliding pocket door. The kitchen has an attached powder room. Appliances include refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, and disposal. The rear kitchen door opens onto a small deck, and stairs lead to a brick patio, which is separated by a locked wooden gate from the dedicated rear parking space. The living room and kitchen have working wood-burning fireplaces, and each of the three floors has high ceilings and bay fronts. The second floor has a guest bedroom and a marble-lined common bath. The washer and dryer are accessible from the second floor landing. The master bedroom has a working wood-burning fireplace and a carpeted walk-through closet into a marble bathroom with double sinks. The third floor has a sunny south-facing common area with access to a rear deck. The third floor also has a bay front bedroom with walk-in closet, and full bathroom with a marble floor and blue pearl granite shower stall. The owner would prefer a minimum two-year or longer lease. The house is rented unfurnished; and utilities (gas, electric, water, cable, etc.) are not included in the rent. At present there is a renovation at the adjacent building at 1748 Swann Street NW. The renovation is expected to continue through August and possibly September 2021, and prospective tenants are invited to speak directly with the owner and builder of the property under renovation in order to acquaint themselves as to the degree of noise and inconvenience that might occur during the remainder of the project. The asking rent is $6,300 per month plus utilities. Security deposit is one month's rent, and there is a $35 application fee for each adult tenant. District law requires that a housing provider state that the housing provider will not refuse to rent a rental unit to a person because the person will provide the rental payment, in whole or in part, through a voucher for rental housing assistance provided by the District or federal government.
