The building was converted to a weekend residence in 1973 by acclaimed architect Edward Knowles. Knowles' work includes Boston City hall and Wolf Creek. The Ice House was featured in Architectural Digest in 1977 and more recently on PBS. The Ice House is 1/2 mile up the road from Manitoga (Russel Wrights modernist home and grounds). The property is surrounded by parklands and hiking trails. You can hike up the mountain from a trail on the property and connect with the trail system at Monitoga and the Appalachian trail. The Metro North is 5 minutes away and the town of Cold Spring is 10. 1 hour from NYC. We are offering weekly and monthly rentals.
