The owners are selling the house due to health reasons that make it difficult for them to live there (can’t walk the length of the dock; can’t use the spiral staircase, etc). Due to the condition of the home, the city marina is not allowing the house to remain in the marina unless substantial repairs are made before selling the house. Because we are not in a position to make the repairs (cost, logistics (i.e. repairs are not allowed to be made in the marina), timing, etc) we have decided to sell the house AS-IS to someone who can move it out of the City Marina to private property somewhere within Key West. We had 2 surveys completed. The original survey we submitted rated the house as “acceptable” but was rejected by the city. The city required a 2nd survey by a different surveyor. Water does get into the hulls but is pumped out by a sump pump. Has been floating in the same location for 30 years.
