What the owner loves about this home
The bright home has a cozy, roomy feel. You have great views of the ocean, Fort DeRussy Park, Diamond Head, and the Waikiki City Skyline. We have a great, helpful, friendly staff and the residents are pleasant and proud to live in Canterbury Place. The condo is very private with only 4 units per floor and virtually no common walls with other units. The location is very convenient, close to everything: the beach, Fort DeRussy Park to walk your dog (2 pets per unit are allowed), restaurants, bars, all kinds of entertainment, shopping, and it is still in the quieter part of Waikiki. The neighborhood is very safe and even as a woman you can safely walk the beach at midnight and every other time of the day by yourself.
The location is very walkable and with a bicycle, you rarely need a car. The Waikiki beach, great shopping, dining, and entertainment are all within 15-minute walking distance.
We are in a great part of Waikiki and it is and feels like vacation land. On the ground level of our building, we have new top-class restaurants and coffee shops/ice cream parlors. Across the street are Fort DeRussy Park and the Hilton Hawaiian Village on the way to the beach. Also, some shops like ABC or the Food Pantry are right across the street or around the corner. My paddle club is right at the beach for 5 min. walk.
Too many restaurants to list, for shopping there is Walmart, K-Mart, Don Quixote, Food Pantry, Safeway, Foodland, Whole Foods, and of course Ala Moana Shopping Center, and many more, all within 2 miles.
Eevents in the neighborhood that a new buyer would like to know about?
There are lots of parades, festivals on Kalakaua and Ala Moana Blvd, and of course lots of events in the Convention Center. I have a few minutes walks to my outrigger canoe paddle club, and yes I paddle right on the ocean at Waikiki and can keep an eye on my Condo.
