Acceptable forms of verification include W-2s, pay stubs and proof of rent subsidies. 3) Employment Verification Employment must be verified for prospective tenants. Spoken or written confirmation from their employer that the prospective tenant works where they claim and has the income that they claim. There should be no indication that the prospective tenant's employment is in question in the foreseeable future. 4) Criminal History With the tenant's permission, a background check will be pulled. The tenant should have no felonies in the last 7 years and no crimes committed that indicate they will treat the rental unit improperly.
