First, this ad is going to be a little long, but that's because I can't stand ads that don't tell you enough or ones that are just full of realtor speak and don't give the real dirt on the place. Second, we can speak with confidence about this house and this neighborhood because we live here. This house is really unique in that it has three bedrooms AND 3.5 bathrooms. You read that right - every bedroom has its own bathroom and there's a powder room off the living room, so nobody has to share. Ever. It is a great setup for roommates, but singles or couples could also live comfortably and have room for guests. There is a deck off one of the second floor bedrooms, and the backyard has been completely decked over and wired for electricity so it's a great space for entertaining. Also, this house is at the end of a row, so you have access to the backyard down the alley if needed. The living room is large and is accented with a wood feature on one wall - in that wall are embedded mounts and hookups for your fancy TV and its accouterments, not to mention in-wall speakers. The kitchen is fully upgraded with stone counter tops and stainless steel appliances, and there are hardwood floors throughout, plus central air. All of the bathrooms are tiled and fully updated as well. The basement is partially finished and houses the laundry area (with a gas dryer, which saves a good bit on the electric bill) and a large amount of storage space. It is only two stories, but it is on a 70-foot lot and is very large. About Point Breeze: It truly is a rapidly developing area with new construction and rehabs everywhere. We've lived here for seven years and have been amazed at how quickly things have grown. First the skinny jeans and lumberjack beards showed up, and now the baby strollers and pleated khakis are appearing - the merits of this change can be debated, but it's happening either way. The American Sardine Bar (three blocks from the house) has been here for awhile, and recently Madira opened up as well. There are also two coffee shops, and of course, places like Sidecar, Devil's Pocket, Ten Stone, and South Philly Tap Room are all very close as well. Can you tell we like to drink? You also have extremely easy access to transportation - driving or biking, you are a short distance to the South Street Bridge if you need to get to Penn, Drexel, or I-76. The 17 bus line runs up and down 19th and 20th Streets and then goes up and down Market Street all the way to Penn's Landing - it's incredibly convenient on its own or as a connector to other routes. The 64 bus runs up and down Washington Ave, and of course the orange line is about 6 blocks away at Broad if you're heading to Temple or other points north or south. Also, we have two cars and have never had to park further away from the house than just around the corner. Other things you need to know: we are pet lovers, so we will allow them, but it will be at our discretion and possibly with an additional fee or deposit (they're wonderful little critters but they can be quite destructive at times). We reserve the right to ask for a credit check, proof of employment, and/or references at our discretion. Mostly, though, we just want to find responsible people who will care for the house and be as happy there as we have been. We will still live in the neighborhood and will be available on short notice for any situation that might arise. We will require first month, last month, and security for a total of $6750 to move in. The house is occupied right now but available for showings. It will be available for move-in on July 1. Please call Laura at show contact info to schedule a time to see it, and thanks for making it all the way to the end of our informative but long-winded ad. Happy house hunting! Owner pays for water & sewer. Tenant pays gas and electric. Tenant is responsible for snow removal.
