Great log home and fisherman and sportsman hideaway on tree studded fenced 1.07 acre lot. Only 300 yards away from arguably the best Rainbow and Brown Trout fishing in North America, the famous San Juan River; 2 miles south of the quality fishing catch and release waters; 6 miles south of Navajo Lake so an ideal location for boating and swimming. (The stories you have heard about the size of the fish?--all true) The Navajo Dam community is surrounded by BLM land for camping, biking, hiking, wildlife watching and 4 wheeling. (The trophy sized mule deer are some of the largest in the country) Ski slopes, winery and casino nearby. Shade and fruit trees abound. Neighbors are wonderful. Community is great. Just a short walk to superb dining. 5 miles to local airstrip; fly in, arrange for a pick-up, keep your car in your garage. No history of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes. Not in a flood plain. Contact for further information and additional photos. Neighborhood Description The community is wonderful. The neighbors are the best. The location is superb- for raising a family or retirement-lots to do. Six miles below a lake for summer time sports-water skiing, fishing, boating (power or sail or paddle), swimming. 300 yards from the San Juan river for year round fishing or floating. I had a favorite rock from which I would throw my line in and catch dinner. Thousands of acres of BLM land all around for hiking, 4 wheeling, biking, horse back riding, back packing, and exploring. An hour and a half drive from the ski slopes for winter time sports. Within hours in any direction are some of the most beautiful destinations in North America; Chaco, Canyon de Chelley, Monument Valley, Silverton, Telluride and more. About 30 miles from the nearest casino. About 6 miles north of a winery that features Sunday entertainment all summer long. Twenty minute drive to the nearest grocery store. A wonderful, wonderful library in nearby Farmington with a great satellite library in Aztec, a very fine junior college in Farmington with programs for all ages. I made a yearly week end excursions to Santa Fe for the opera season, and also to Cedar City Utah for the Shakespeare Festival-both very fine venues. Less than 8% of land in the county is salable. The community of Navajo Dam will never get larger because the number of water meters is limited.
