DOGGIE DETAILS: Oak Island is well-known not only for being a family-oriented beach but also one of the most dog-friendly beaches in North Carolina. Dogs that are leashed are permitted YEAR ROUND on Oak Island beaches, and dogs are allowed off their leash from October 15 through March 15. Oak Island also offers two different dog parks for your furry friends to enjoy. We allow ONE dog less than 35 lbs. No Smoking.
