But it's not all old -- this apartment has been thoughtfully renovated. It has a newer HVAC system and water heater; updated electrical wiring and fixtures (no scary knob and tube!); energy-efficient windows; an updated bathroom; and an updated kitchen with 42" maple cabinets, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances (including gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, range hood, and garbage disposal). There's even more storage space in the private basement, plus washer/dryer hookups. (Oh hey -- there's even a washer and dryer down there already that you may use!) Finally, there's an adorable back balcony, a backyard with room for a garden, and one off-street parking spot in back (along with plentiful street parking in front). This lovely historic building is walking distance from Soulard and Lafayette Square and convenient to Downtown and all interstates. This building is owned by real people, not a property management company, and this blue apartment was our home for many years. Now, we live just down the street, so we're quick to address any issues. Landlord pays water, sewer, and trash; tenant responsible for gas, electric, and cable/internet/phone service. Cats okay with additional $25/month kitty rent. Application Requirements: good credit (minimum score of 640); monthly gross income at least 3x rent; approved background check (no evictions, collection actions, felonies, etc.).
