But the dining room and office space along with the size of the rooms make it seem huge.Large Kitchen, Bathroom, Large Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom on lower floor.Office space and Extremely Large Bedroom on upper floor.The living room gets fantastic light during the afternoons as you can see from the photos.Covered Douglas Fir rear deck.Large backyard with plenty of room for grilling or picnics.This house is tucked up on a hill near Downtown Norwich.Less than 10 minute drive to Mohegan Sun, Less than 15 min to Foxwoods, Two minutes from Backus Hospital.Includes stainless steel LG gas stove, dishwasher, stainless steel refrigerator, and very nice stackable washer dryer.Offstreet parking for 1 car, second car parks on street.4 separate heating zones for efficiency and savings.This unit has newer gas boilers which are very efficient.Gas and Electricity not included. Landlord pays for Water, Sewage. You will have a downstairs neighbor and unfortunately the house has no soundproofing. I require tenants who are capable of being considerate and reasonable with regards to their noise levels.The stainless steel appliances require specific care and maintenance. Tenants must be willing to learn the proper cleaning and care techniques for stainless steel. $30 application fee for each adult who plans to live in the unit.Fee helps cover the cost of credit and criminal checks.Current income factors strongly in the application process.1st month's rent and deposit required as a minimum. If credit comes back bad you will probably have to show solid proof of income and post a larger security deposit. Pets are allowed but discouraged. They will be interviewed and considered on a case by case basis and will require an additional pet deposit. Deposits of this type usually do not get returned to tenants at the end of their stay because cleaning carpets and removing all traces of hair, odor, and allergens from the apartment takes days of cleaning on my hands and knees. No barkers,howlers, biters or scratchers. There will be a LIVE TEST where your pet will be left in the apartment alone for a few hours to see if it has separation anxiety.If the apartment smells like dog when you move out you will probably lose a substantial amount of your security deposit.This house is on a steep hill. The City of Norwich knows about this hill and when it snows they do their best to plow it early and often. But when snow and ice are heavy, it can be a problem. If your only car is a mustang then during storms you will want to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up about 100 yards. Also the driveway to the off-street parking is quite narrow. Normal sedans do OK but if you have a very wide vehicle you will probably want to park on the street.In the three years I have been here I count 4 renovation projects on this street. Two have been completed and two are currently underway. So I am not going to say that this is some happening/up-and-coming neighborhood, but it certainly is showing signs of an upturn. I have never had any problems with crime. This is a quiet street. If you are concerned about the neighborhood please do a drive by on John St in Norwich. Please do not make an appointment with me and do a no-show because it takes me 30 min to drive there.Owner pays water and sewer. Tenant pays electric and gas heat.
