Enjoy privacy and comfort in this picturesque historic house. The home's three stories, featuring a charming kitchen, mud room, dining room, and stately living room with nine-foot ceilings, three second-floor bedrooms (including a master bedroom with a walk in closet and secondary storage closet), and two top-floor rooms that serve well as additional bed rooms, offices, craft rooms, or storage rooms all supplemented with a freshly refurbished basement offer ample place for storage, entertaining, rest, and work. The home's exterior includes a charming garden and private backyard with a deck that will fit an outdoor dining table, as well as a private driveway that can fit around three cars.
Location:
This home is a five-minute walk away from restaurants (including the highly rated La Sponda, Sam's Pizza, and El Tarasco), a grocery store (Kimberton Whole Foods), cafes (like local hangout Twin Valley Coffee), parks, walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, a public frisbee golf course, a skate park, beautiful streams, and even Downington's planned new train station right across the street that will take you to Philadelphia. The home is also a six-minute drive from BJs and ten minutes from Walmart.
Property help and troubleshooting is available via both an on-site groundskeeper and a close-by property management company.
History:
We tried to keep as much of the house original to its mid-1800s mansion style. Excavations on the grounds of the home, which features Victorian Gothic Revival architecture, suggest it once belonged to the local factory foreman and was, at the time of its construction, one of the most luxurious homes in the area. Enjoy a break from flipped homes and cheaply made apartments in rooms with hand-crafted flourishes, hardwood floors, private porches, and verdant yards all a stone's throw from Brandywine Creek.
Disclosure:
The two top-floor bedrooms don't technically qualify as bedrooms due to their dimensions, ceiling heights, and heating arrangements, however they can easily be converted into bedrooms as desired. All of this is clear in the pictures uploaded.
12-month lease. No smoking. Renter is responsible for water, trash, gas, and electric.
