    What's special

Fabulous opportunity to own 165 acres with approximately 95 acres cleared, fenced pasture, 3 creeks, 2 ponds, 2 homes with mountain views! Great Investment property for possible vineyard, tree farm, farming, recreational activities like hunting, fishing, horseback riding, cattle or horses. Quick access to I-77, near Mount Airy, Dobson, Pilot Mountain, Elkin and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Three parcels make up the total farm: the first is 6.41 acres on the right of Fred Atkinson Lane (a private road that serves the farm). This tract is level, has a large 2.5 acre hayfield, an old frame farmhouse, a storage building, a new well and septic. The second parcel is 28.89 on the right on the drive. This parcel consists of all timber, mixed hardwood and pine, a branch that travels the length of the parcel and a 1.8 acre hayfield. This tract slopes down to the branch. The third parcel has a brick home with walk out basement, two septic tanks, 2 wells and sits 1250 ft off the main road for complete privacy. Just behind the house is a one acre pond - great for fishing and watching the birds, ducks and geese as they migrate every year. A large tractor shed is located near the house with extension on either side for storage. Continue past the house and you'll come to a fork in the road. Turn right to go to the barn and stay straight to more fenced pasture. The barn is old, but in good shape and has 12 stalls with large hayloft, extension on one side for storage. A block building nearby was used for milking back in the day and there is a woodshed next to that. There is a two acre hayfield in front of the barn. Below the barn is a gate to a fenced pasture, the larger of the ponds and an old log tobacco barn. The creek continues from the pond and feeds into a creek that is the southern border of the property. Going back to the fork in the road, continue to another gate that opens up to the rest of the rolling pastures. Just inside the gate is another old tobacco barn and on the left, the land slopes down to the creek (that started back in the wooded tract) and continues past the creek to the east boundary. Back at the gate, continue slightly southwest and the land has a natural knoll at 1250 elevation - from here there are mountain views of Skull Camp mountain and the Blue Ridge in the distance as well as sweeping views of the farm. Continue south to the boundary fence line and turn west until you come to a smaller pond. Here the boundary of the property becomes a bold creek for a distance. To summarize, the driveway enters from the north, the farm can be divided into a western section headed up by the large pond and divided lengthwise by the creek until it reaches the smaller pond and then the creek that bounds the lower part of the property. The center section that includes the barn, the knoll and more sweeping pastures. The eastern section that includes the woodlands, the creek that divides it lengthwise with pastures on either side. Bring the horses, cattle or other livestock, plan a vineyard on the southern exposures, build a new home on the knoll overlooking the hills and the mountains - whatever your desires, this farm will accommodate your dreams.
