Transitional area, but a central location convenient to Emeryville, Temescal, Lake Merritt, Downtown Oakland, the Bay Bridge and 19th St BART -- No garage parking, but ample on-street parking -- Secure bicycle parking inside the building -- Bike station right out front, with many electric scooters nearby -- Keyless entry for easy package deliveries to the building About the unit: -- Spacious 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit -- The two bedrooms are of roughly equal size (12x12), each with a bay window and large closet -- Top floor, with easy access to the rooftop deck -- Fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, gas range, microwave, disposal, dishwasher) -- Tile bathroom -- In-unit washer/dryer -- Nest thermostat -- Wired for high-speed Comcast internet Neighborhood Conditions In my honest opinion, this is a great apartment and a great value. The main drawback is that neighborhood conditions have deteriorated a lot over the past year. Car break-ins used to be rare, but now they seem common. This is probably true for almost anywhere in San Francisco, Oakland or Berkeley. And it is definitely true for us here. Also, a homeless camp sprang up a block down the street earlier this year. It has caused no end of trouble and the city seems to be completely uninterested in removing the camp, in spite of our many complaints. This is going to deter some people, while others may not care.
