Room details
Lothlorien Cooperative currently accepting new members!
*Room 204 currently available*
Our housing co-operative is looking for individuals interested in living in intentional community to move in to our beloved home.
Living in a cooperative is different than a standard rental property - we are tenant-owners, we all are responsible for caring for the house and working communally. You can visit Madison Cooperative Community's website to learn more.
Room price $495, includes utilities, does not include $90 food share fee. $200 security deposit.
Since our founding in 1973, Lothlorien Co-op has striven to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for people of all ages, sexes, races, and sexual orientations. Many of our housemembers are politically active in queer rights, labor rights, and environmental and feminist movements. Based in egalitarian ideals, house decisions are made through modified consensus at weekly house meetings.
To live at Lothlorien, we have members complete our membership process, which usually is a 3 week process of three visits to the house, the last visit being an interview. We can complete this virtually if the applicant needs. To begin the membership process, please send an email to lothlorienmembership (AT) madisoncommunity (.) coop.
We have a great location within walking distance of the Capitol, UW-Madison and MATC campuses, and bus lines.
