Finch Cottage is a charming year round home in the heart of the village of New Harbor. Its a short walk to Harbor Ice Cream, the bank, Reilly's Market and the local gas station/hardware store. Jump on your bike for the short coast down the hill to Pemaquid Beach or pedal a little further down the road to the dock and boat landing just past the Pemaquid Cemetery where some of the earliest settlers of the region are buried. Further down the peninsula is the Pemaquid Lighthouse to enjoy brilliant early morning sunrises or spectacular sunsets. Galleries, ocean front dining, tour boats, kayaking, sailing, a ferry to Monhegan are all close by to make every minute of your time here exciting and memorable. The home is a classic New Englander style home on the outside and an easy to care for vacation cottage on the inside. The deck on the back side of the house overlooks the large shaded lawn and is a perfect place to relax, welcome guests, have a cocktail and enjoy cool evening breezes. The downs stairs is an open floor plan of a large eat-in kitchen and a cozy living room with built in bookcases. There is also the very practical laundry/bathroom combination. Climb the stairs to the second floor where you will find the big bedroom on the west side of the house and the smaller bedroom on the east side. There is also a half bath so you don't have to go downstairs in the middle of the night. There is also space above the kitchen that is large enough to be renovated into a bedroom suite if you want to expand in the future. Finch Cottage has an excellent vacation rental history as a weekly rental from May into September and October if you want to defray some costs by renting on the weeks that you can't make it to Maine.
