The back yard has lots of fruit trees and gazebo/deck for eating outside. The home has huge windows, tons of closets, the kitchen has a food prep island and very efficient European refrigerator and there is a food pantry. The home is very energy efficient, very low utility bills. Neighborhood Description Cohousing is like a new old-fashioned neighborhood. Everyone knows their neighbors, the kids go out and play without needing play dates and there are impromptu gatherings and discussions all the time. Many resources are shared, so, for example, not everyone needs to have their own weed wacker, there is one, good one, for everyone in the community. We have a Common House, where meals are cooked up to 6 times a week that you can join, if you like. No one has to, because we all have our own full units, complete with kitchen and dining room. People's need for privacy is highly respected. Besides a commercial grade kitchen and dining room, the Common House has guest rooms that members can sign up for, so everyone doesn't need to have their own guestroom. There is also a kids play room, a music room, a room for teens to hang out, a sitting room with fireplace, etc... There is also a chicken club for people who would like to have chickens and enjoy fresh eggs. There is a workshop for woodworking and crafts. We have 11 acres, 6 of which are open space for walking through and enjoying nature. Residents go out of their way to lend a hand, when you need it.
