Come live in our delightful, quirky, and colorful home between Saturday, June 22nd and Wednesday, July 24th. Our unit is the bottom floor of a three-unit building in the Oakdale neighborhood of Portland. It's right around the corner from Rose Foods, a few blocks away from Proper Cup, an easy bike ride to Deering Oaks Park, and a steep but doable 1.5 mile walk or bike ride up to the Portland's downtown on the peninsula. Our unit includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, a dining room, a living room, and a kitchen with a sweet little galley. All told, it's about 1,300 square feet. The building dates back to 1912 and it has all the vintage flourishes you might expect, including elaborate tin ceilings and built-in china cabinets. With the vintage vibes come old-house pitfalls: audible neighbors in the unit above, occasional mice, and a prehistoric basement where you'll do your laundry for free. Even with the quirks, it's a great spot! The neighbors in the units above are lovely. The backyard is a nice bohemian space for hosting and you're welcome to use the sauna. Rent is $2,500 for the full month. For the right person, we might be willing to pro-rate the cost for fewer weeks. We're hoping to avoid adding more pets to the building but we might be willing to consider a cat or small dog for the right person. Parking is on the street. Folks with serious interest are invited to send a message our way introducing yourself! We're happy to provide in-person or video walk-throughs if we decide that you're a good fit.
