This Elegant French Country House was designed by the prominent architectural firm of Larry Boerder and custom built by Cyrus Barcus. The highest levels of craftsmanship were used in this construction from the flagstone flooring in the entry and the garden room to the rich honey colored pecan (hickory) woodworking used throughout the home. The house is situated on a heavily treed corner lot with a front dimension of approximately ninety feet and a dept of two hundred and twenty six feet. One may access the front by entering the flagstone drive from either Fairfield or Gillon. Towering trees, azaleas, and roses welcome surround the exterior along the beautiful high brick wall. The entry hall and staircase was designed to allow for the maximum amount of light to fill the area with two story ceilings and dormer windows. On one side of the entry is the large study with many bookcases, Bordeaux patterned flooring, a wood burning fireplace and windows on three sides including a bay window allowing for plenty of light to fill the room. This study may be closed off from the entry and leads back to the master bedroom. On the other side of the entry hall is the dining room which also has a three walls of windows Bordeaux patterned hardwood floors, and another wood burning fireplace. This rooms leads to the country kitchen through a butler's pantry. The kitchen has a large island, granite counters, a built in fireplace for grilling, gas cooktop, two warming drawers, walk in pantry and faces east for nice morning light. This leads to the back staircase, wet bar and family room. The Family room has a wood burning fireplace, built in area for electronics, shuttered doors and windows, a small dining area and opens onto a trellis covered terrace with yet another wood burning fireplace.
