We have a lovely and light-filled Fully Furnished, mid-century brick house, in the Mt Baker neighborhood of Seattle, which sits high above Genessee Park and is close to Columbia City, Light Rail and a 7-minute walk to Lake Washington, just down the hill and through a green space. There is a ton of space on 2 floors. Upstairs, where you enter the house, the living room/dining room have an entire wall of windows, which overlook the back garden, with a view of the park. There's a wonderful deck off the dining room where we spend many summer evenings eating dinner and watching the birds. On this floor is a full and a bath, as well as 2 good-sized bedrooms with big closets; one is presently being used as an office. There is also a bonus piano in that room, which can be removed if required. Downstairs, the large primary bedroom has a big walk-in closet, and French doors opening on to a private back deck. The adjacent luxury bathroom has a heated floor and a big shower room. The den is a good size with plenty of room for all sorts of activities. There is a wall of bookshelves and a small sleeping area under the stairs, which our niece slept in cozily for many years. We presently use the den as our exercise space and TV room. This room also has French doors opening to the back deck and it is just a few steps away from our almost new hot tub. The back garden is a beautiful urban oasis, with a stone patio surrounded by trees, shrubs, and perennial plants, the birds love it here. We also have a small, dedicated veggie garden if you want to use it. We have loved this house with all our heart. Looking out the living room windows at the park during the day and the expanse of sky at night is such a pleasure. You can almost forget you are in a city. Except for the good parts, like seeing the lights twinkling from neighbors' homes. We live in wonderful neighborhood, full of parks and green space, with Columbia City, a vibrant area with lots of amenities including a huge local food coop, the PCC, as well as lots of restaurants, music venues, several gyms, and even an independent movie theatre, just a 15-minute walk from our house. Plus, Seward Park can be reached by either walking or taking a seven-minute drive along the lake. There are lots of places to swim, kayak and paddleboard along the way. We are also not far from the Capitol Hill, Beacon Hill, and Central districts which also have loads of places to eat and shop. We are looking to rent our home as we are planning to spend a year abroad, using the U.K. as our base, as one of us is British by birth and has not lived there for 40 years. As we are both retired, and still in good shape for travel and adventure, it seems a good time to go. We are hoping to entrust our home to people who will very much appreciate the light and natural setting, with proximity to many urban amenities. House will be on a 1-year lease with some flexibility to extend for a month or so, as we will be out of the country. It will be available from June 1st, 2025, until June 30th 2026. Renters will be responsible for all utility payments. Renters will also be responsible for maintaining the hot tub, which is almost new, or owners can disconnect it. Owners will hire a management company for screening prospective renters, and a yard service for regular maintenance. We will require a 1-month security deposit and pet deposit (latter to be determined with manager) Absolutely no smoking in the house or attached garage.
