    What's special

Hi, I'm looking for a roommate to share my new home with. RENT: Will be $1200/month, so move in cost is first and $1200 deposit totaling $2400. THE HOUSE: It's roughly a 900sq/ft single level home in the Oakland hills next to Piedmont and Montclair. The room for rent is medium sized with 2 medium sized closets. There will be plenty of storage made available as there is an unattached garage. The house is entirely furnished, except for the bedroom and the kitchen is filled with all the cooking accessories you could ever need. There are two big windows in your room(all the windows in the house are new), so plenty of light. YOU: I'd like to find someone who intends to stay for a year or so; I'm not looking for a permanent roommate. I don't have too many other requirements, but we will have to share the chores in a non-specific sense. We'll take turns cleaning stuff, but mostly, I just want someone who keeps things fairly clean in general. There's not much i can say about personality and what sort of person I'd like to live with, we'll just have to meet up and see if we like each other. BTW: I HAVE A DOG, a medium sized blue nose American Pitbull Terrier, so I can't really accommodate any other pets. He's intimidating looking when you first meet him, but once you've greeted each other, he'll want to be your best friend. He's very cute and very cuddly, so if you like dogs, I'm sure you'll like Blue. Also, it's nice to know that nobody is going to try to break in with him around! ALSO: NO SMOKING INSIDE. There's a really nice porch and backyard for smoking if you like. ME: I work in commercial video production, so my schedule is random. I barely know where I'm going to be the next day, so I might be around frequently for a couple weeks and then disappear almost entirely for a couple weeks. I'd like to make myself out to be a badass rock-climbing-snowboarder who travels the world, but really, I don't do that stuff as often as I want. Most of the time I'm just a normal guy, running around on errands or at home watching movies. I am single and do date, so may occasionally bring someone home for dinner. You're welcome to do the same, but the place is a little small for me to have two new roommates, so I can't have a couple move in. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Is very nice. We're in a cul de sac, so it's pretty quiet. The owner is a friend, so I've been around here quite a bit before moving in and the neighbors are great, especially the next-door neighbors. We're right on SHEPHERD CANYON and the backyard is the side of the canyon. It's a beautiful place. TRANSPORTATION/PARKING: It takes 15 MIN. to get to downtown SF! (with no traffic). And if there happens to be traffic, you can just walk a couple blocks to the casual carpool line and save a ton of time. If you're not familiar with casual carpool, just ask. . .It's awesome. Also, I just found out that there's an ac transit that picks up a few blocks away and goes straight to downtown sf with NO STOPS! A friend told me about it, he said is only a few bucks and super fast. As I mentioned, we're on a cul de sac, so parking is good. The driveway runs the length of the house to a garage in the back, so we could both park there if we need to, but I think the spot out front is always available. There aren't any parking regulations here. ALSO: There is a grocery store behind my house, so you just have to walk through the back fence for any groceries and there's a coffee shop there too; it's actually one of the better coffee shops around. If you like hiking, there's an endless trail one block up the hill, so ideal for runners.
