This sunny, fully furnished private apartment is located on the second floor of an owner occupied two unit building. Location, location, location! Conveniently close to all that the greater Portland area has to offer! Just a couple of blocks from the Greenbelt. Minutes from wonderful restaurants, night life, beaches, lighthouses etc. Too many things to do and see to list Details-Bright small apartment on the second floor in a classic century old home with period details. I live in the downstairs apartment. Eclectically decorated and comfortable with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The apartment is a wonderful size to accommodate one or two people. It has a queen size bed in the bedroom, office, sunroom, dining room as well as full kitchen. The office can be converted to a second bedroom if desired. Rentals of a month or more will also include a shared clothes washer and dryer. It is available January 21st, 2023-mid May This unit is for 1 or 2 adults only. It is not suitable for children. No pets are allowed even the nicest ones. It is available monthly from January 21, 2023-May 20, 2023 Monthly rental includes all utilities and parking on the street from April-November, garage parking for 1 car in the winter. Being an older building with quirks to consider, I'd like to let you know a few of those... There is no central heat or air conditioning and though air conditioning is usually not needed here, there is one in a window for you from mid June thru mid September. The rest of the year, the heat is set at 68 degrees during the day and 64 degrees overnight. Due to an impossible pipe to get to, no baths are allowed, just showers. Sorry cooking smells can permeate the building and the stove has no vent so cooking lobsters or bacon is prohibited. The fireplace is not to be utilized but strictly for aesthetic purposes. There is a trash can under the kitchen sink as well as in the bathroom. The toilet is not a trash can. Disposing of anything other than toilet paper in the toilet is strictly forbidden. Additional rules... Guests must be at least 25 years of age. No extra guests. The walls and floors are thin so please, no shoes in the apartment. Please deposit shoes at the front door. Quiet time is 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. No pets, open flames, smoking, vaping or drug use. No firearms or weapons allowed. We love recycling here in So. Po.! Please see the guidelines posted on the refrigerator. All recyclables go in the blue bin on the right side of the building. Bags of trash go in the green bin. Parking- The city of South Portland allows overnight (midnight-6am) parking on the street from April 1st-November 30st so please park in front of the unit. There is no overnight parking during the winter. During that time, there is one space in the garage. An additional space in the driveway may be available as well. Local tax laws- For stays of longer than 28 days, the State of Maine requires that I collect and remit 9% lodging tax from the guest for the first 28 days which will be refunded to the guest after they vacate. To receive the refund, an "Affidavit of Exemption" form must be filled out by the guest. I will then submitted it to the state for the refund. This is a work from home, owner occupied building. If you are looking to host a party or gathering, this is not the right rental for you. No large gatherings or parties!
