London Terrace Gardens is a part of the history of New York. When it was completed in 1931, London Terrace was the considered the largest apartment building in the world. Occupying the entire block between 23rd and 24th Streets and Ninth and Tenth Avenues in the heart of fashionable West Chelsea, it still shows up by name on most maps of the City. In 1948, the current owners purchased the ten interior buildings. The corner towers were sold independently and eventually became a cooperative. The central buildings surrounding the one-acre garden courtyard and comprising nearly one thousand apartments were named London Terrace Gardens. Heat, Gas, Water, Electric included in rent
